A practical Google Business Profile checklist
Before sharing a review link, make sure it leads to a complete and accurate business profile.
Check your core details
- Use the business name customers recognise, without added promotional keywords.
- Check the business category, address or service area, and contact details.
- Keep regular and special opening hours accurate.
- Review the website and booking links on a phone.
Check who can manage the profile
The business should retain appropriate ownership and access. If an agency helps manage the profile, confirm its role and the work it is authorised to do. Do not share a personal account password as a substitute for appropriate access.
Test the review destination
Use the business’s own review link and confirm that it opens the intended location. Test a printed QR code before ordering a batch. For a group with multiple branches, each code should match the location shown on the artwork.
Keep the invitation neutral
Make reviews optional and offer the same opportunity regardless of expected sentiment. Do not ask for a specific star rating or supply a review for the customer to copy. Review invitations and private support should remain separate choices.
Keep the profile useful
Review photos, contact information and hours as the business changes. Read customer feedback and provide helpful replies where appropriate. Accurate information serves customers even when there is no immediate change in search ranking.
